Twenty-six years ago, upon arriving in Atlanta with $5 and a half tank of gas, Dan Johnson began his career in the building trades.
Born and raised in the small town of Elberton, GA, Dan left college to satisfy his yearning for building and woodworking. His God-given talent and his longing to learn led him to begin building churches, restaurants, office buildings and homes.

Since moving to Athens in 1995, his thriving remodelling career left him longing for something more. That "something" was the desire to handcraft custom furniture. |

Hence "Makers Furniture " was founded. Dan's love of woodworking, furniture building and cabinetry is evident in each and every custom design he crafts.
When he's not in the shop, Dan spends time with his family and taking in the open road on his cherished Harley. |
